Johanes Keppler


            Johannes Kepler, was a German born Physicist who was mainly known for his knowledge of planetary orbits. Kepler also contributed numerous works in optics. One of his discoveries was discovering 2 new regular polyhedra. He also gave the first proof of how logarithms worked. Clearly Johannes Kepler was a important figure in the world of science.              Kepler was born in the small town of Weil der Stadt in Swabia and moved to nearby leonerg with his mother and father in 1576. His father was a soldier for hire and his mother was a daughter of a inn keeper. Johannes was the 1st born in his family. When kepler was five his father left home for the war in the Netherlands and never returned. As a result Kepler lived with his mother in his Grandfathers inn. Kepler helped by serving at his grandfathers inn. One would think that the customers were sometimes by his natural ability for mathematics. .
             Kepler's early education was at a nearby school. The school was located by a seminary, from which, intended to be ordained, he went on to enrol at the University of Tubigen. Tubigen is a bastion of Lutheran othidoxy. .
             One of the factors that might have influenced Kepler's decision to attend a Lutheran orthodoxy university was that he was a very religion man. In fact, all of his writings included numerous references to god. Kepler believed that man was maid in the image of god. Kepler's beliefs differed in that he believed that man was completely capable of understanding the universe. Kepler believed that the seacrets to the universe were held within mathematics. .
             During Keplers time period when Kepler attended college their were four mathematical sciences. They were Arithmetic, Geometry, astronomy and music. Different universities taught one of the mathematical sciences. At the university Kepler went to the sciences taught was astronomy.
