Huffing, inhaling, glading, no one ever thought that it would reach the level of popularity that it has and now the teenage population is suffering. Inhalants are classified as solvents, gases or nitrites. Examples of some solvents are paint thinners, gasoline, white out, glue, sharpies and nail polish remover. A few examples of gases include propane tanks, whipping cream from aerosol cans (whippets), spray paint, nos (nitrous oxide, A.K.A. laughing gas) and deodorant sprays. .
Inhaling such products can be done one of two ways; it can either be inhaled through the nose, "sniffing", or inhaled through the mouth, "huffing". Inhalants/inhaling can also be known as bolt, bullet, glading, huffing, moon gas, poor man's pot, poppers, whippets, and snappers.
These drugs come as sprays, liquids or gases. They are inhaled through either the mouth or the nasal passage for the high directly following.
People abuse these drugs for the very powerful high and the hallucinations that follow the inhalation. It is an inexpensive, convenient way to get high. Initially, after use, one can occasionally suffer limb spasms, hearing loss, and damage to the brain and/or central nervous system. Chronic users can experience long-term damage to the brain, kidneys and liver. One can also suffer from bone marrow damage. When someone overdoses, they can expect to feel very faint, very weak, often seizures are involved and passing out is a major sign. If overdose occurs, emergency care should be sought out immediately. When on inhalants, people are more emotional, more dramatic, triggering a mental or physical breakdown. .
Inhalants, like every other drug out there, are both physically and psychologically addictive. Your body can become dependent and can even shut down without the drugs.
