Since coming to power, the Liberals have realized just how much the Tory government added to our debt. During the campaign, Dalton McGuinty stated that all housing projects on the Oak Ridges Moraine would come to a halt. Now in power, the Liberals have come to realize that deals have already been sealed between the Conservative party while in power and the developers on the project. In order to stop this development, it would cost billions of dollars that we can not afford. The best Premier Dalton McGuinty was able to do was to stop 900 of the 6,600 housing developments. As a result of the risk these developments will put on our water and air supply, Premier Dalton McGuinty promises to hire more water inspectors to prevent any damage to the systems, and close coal-fire industries to prevent further pollution. What the Liberals are doing, is making the best out of a bad situation that they were ill prepared for after the Conservative damage.

During the campaign, Dalton McGuinty made a promise to bring all housing projects on the Oak Ridges Moraine to a halt. Unfortunately all the Premier has done about this is cut down the developments by 900 houses. Many feel that Premier Dalton McGuinty did not fight hard enough to stop the project altogether.
