Intramuscular steroids are used to control flare in one or two joints, however, without changing the overall structure of the joint. Anabolic steroids are used to treat skeletal, growth disorders, and anemia (Mayo Clinic Staff). On the contrary, some athletes abuse the uses of prescribe steroids. Martin Luther King, Jr. stated, "Sometimes a law is sometimes is just on its face and unjust on its application" (King 188). This is saying when a doctor prescribes steroids, the athlete might use them for the wrong reasons. .
Third, there are different kinds of athletes that use steroids. The first sport is basketball that has a no tolerance policy towards steroids. This means if a player is caught using steroids, he is immediately suspended or expelled from the league.
