In my family there has been a disease in many cases got passed down for many generations, this is infertility. My Great great Aunt Sylvia, Great Aunt Gloria, and my aunt Susie, all have (or had) problems with infertility. All of them did not have a chance to have children. When my Great great Aunt and my great aunt were living, the study of infertility was not developed. So they did not know a lot about it or have the many services to help them with it, and also they could not take advantage of the medical developments of today, in the study of infertility. My Aunt Susie did not want to have children, so her infertility was a blessing. .
This disease can strongly affect our society. This should not be taken lightly, because there are many couples and people that want to have children and 30% of all of them cannot. Infertility is a serious disorder that many people can get; also this has many other options if wanting to become a mother or father. This shows that any man and woman who would ever want to conceive a child would not be able to and everyone would go through emotionally painful time. .
Learning about infertility made me think about all the people out there that have to go through these miserable problems. The research made me feel sad for the people who are infertile. I wish that there were more researchers out there finding more ways to help these people who jus want to have children of their own. When reading about the articles that infertility people wrote they talk about how they got teased and how people will never know what it is like until they have stepped into your shoes, and have been through the things that you have been through.
In conclusion I believe that infertility is a very serious problem and everyone should at least try to understand what these people go through every single day of their life. They might be lonely or singled out, sad, or even depressed that they know they will never be normal.
