Digestive system

The first part of the digestive system is the mouth. Teeth grind for into a soft easy to swallow pulp. Than salivary glands in the mouth secrete saliva that moisten the food. From the mouth the food travels down the esophagus, this is a muscle that pushes food down though the neck and then into the stomach by waves of muscle contractions called peristalsis. .
From there the food travels into the stomach. Muscles in the walls on the stomach contract to smash the food, and strong digestive juices are produced from the stomach's lining. These chemicals attack the food, breaking it down and dissolving it into nutrients. Similar digestive juices called enzymes in the pancreas help break down the food before it travels into the small intestines. The gall bladder is tucked under the liver. It holds bile, which is a fluid that is made in the liver. The bile helps digest fatty foods and it also contains wastes for removal.
Than it travels to the small intestine is about 20 feet long and narrow. Enzymes break down the nutrients from the food until the food is small enough to pass through the walls of the intestine into the blood, and are then carried to the liver and other parts of the body to be used and to be stored. That nutrient rich blood travels to the liver. The liver has hundreds different jobs. From storing nutrients and changing them to different forms and distributing them to your blood and out to your body. .
Then it mover to the large intestine, it takes any chemicals, nutrients, water, pretty much any thing that is unnecessary and form them into feces. Then it remover it out the anus .
the digestive system's main purpose in the body is to take food and separate the necessary and the unnecessary things in it. It takes all of the necessary things and gives them to your body. Your body takes what it needs to live.
The digestive system also takes all of the unnecessary things and takes them out of your body.
