He is offered much of what he was offered at Circe's island with the luxuries, and he is even offered immortality. This is a great gift that he is offered. Calypso has fallen in love with Odysseus and does not want him to leave. Odysseus has made a choice and his choice is to return home. This is probably the greatest show of his love for his family. Turning down immortality and an immortal woman who is not only beautiful, but will also never age. This is a true show of his love and faithfulness.
Odysseus trials and challenging seem to have happened for a reason. You can see that he, and his family is greatly tested. His wife continually refused to marry one of the suitors, even though they are younger men than Odysseus and offer much to her. She may also be turned away by their violent and rude attitudes, but she holds them of for an extensive amount of time while Odysseus is gone. This shows her great love and her son also shows faith even though he has never seen his father.
