How to steal $65 Billion

I have just finished reading the article "How to steal $65 Billion" and am amazed still how easy it is to have your personal information stolen, I knew that you have to be careful but I thought technology was strong enough these days that you didn't have to worry as much about security but I was wrong. Another thing was that I was enlightened about how hard it is to get your credit and life back on track after you have had it stolen and completely destroyed. I thought the extent of it that you would have a charge on your credit card that you didn't make and all you would need to do is call the credit card company and have it taken care of and you"re done. As I found out from the article, it is a huge ordeal of paperwork, money, and wasted time trying to fix your information and credit but even after that, it probably will not be the same as it was before it was stolen. As I was reading the article I was relating it to myself and how I can decrease my chances of this happening to me. It changed the way I think of some of my personal habits about mail and personal paperwork. I have a paper shredder and after I read this article, it made me realize how important it is to use it more frequently because you don't think in the back of your mind that someone would really dig through the garbage for your paperwork because "am not that important" but personal information theft is more common in this way then we think. Also in the article the author suggested that you probably want to take your mail to the post office and not leave it in your mailbox makes me annoyed of how of an inconvenience we have to go though to be safe.
