Contradictions to the Max!-

Life is filled with many contradictions-not just the sweet fragrance designed by Calvin Klein (that is just one of them). Without contradictions, life would be incomplete because we would not understand the meaning of two opposing ends. The world we live in consists of everything interconnecting where one end is not complete without the other. The playwright Tennessee Williams helps us realize the importance of two extremes through his extraordinary play A Streetcar Named Desire. His work distinctly contrasts both reality and illusion, yet at the same time shows the ironic relationship between the two. His work portrays Illusions . Our world is filled with many. His work portrays Reality . It is our physical world. We live in a beautiful world filled with chaos; we live in a realistic world filled with illusions .
It consists of false beliefs; anything that is not real; a subject with more than one side to analyze, but isn't that everything our world contains? Everything that surrounds us are in fact illusions because nothing lasts forever; what once was here might be gone the next day. Take the World Trade Center for example. No one knew that it would be lost in one moment. The Center represented trade, commerce, and the strong American economy. Once toppled, the world's economy started to turn bittersweet. Similarly in the play, the Dubois" family plantation, Belle Reve represented their hopes, ambitions, and their prosperous future. To Blanche Dubois, Belle Reve was everything. When it slipped through her fingers, her whole world began to collapse. Aren't strong pillars supposed to withstand such destruction? Even bold structures cannot always endure the harshness of reality; nothing lasts forever. Our surroundings are covered by illusions. We depend on illusions for survival. Illusions entice us such that they become a reality. The problem is that it is difficult to distinguish reality from illusions due to this circumstance.
