Prejudice in the novel To Kill a Mocking Bird

In a courtroom they have to sit on the balcony and cannot sit with the people who are white. This is shown in the book when it is said " looka there now, he said irritably as the black people surged upstairs" . They cannot have any social events with the white community, not even church. They are treated like a lower race. They are treated like this just because of their colour. This is something that they don't control, its just what they are and they are being judged because of it. There is also prejudice shown through Boo Radley.
Boo Radley was a misunderstood man. He was completely shut off from the world. He liked it this way. He stayed in his house and never came out. This was his own choice and because of this people started to fear him and make fun of him behind his back. They used to make fun of him through games. They did this because they didn't believe in his lifestyle and they thought because he was so shut out that he was some sort of freak. They were prejudiced toward him because of his lifestyle, but near the end of the book they found out that he was really an all around nice guy. "To Kill a Mocking Bird" isn't the only book that prejudice is evident in. It is also evident in "The Crucible". .
Prejudice is shown in "The Crucible" towards women. In the beginning of the book there is thoughts of witchcraft in Samuel. Then they begin charging any woman who seems to be doing something suspect with witchcraft. They assume that its only the woman who are the ones committing the crimes. They don't have any solid evidence that the women are doing witchcraft but they keep arresting them. One example of this is with Elizabeth Proctor. She was charged because she supposedly had a poppet with a needle in it. Elizabeth claimed that she got it from Mary Warren and Mary admitted to giving her the poppet. Mary said when asked if the poppet was hers "why I-I think the poppets are mine.
