The Animal Farm concerns with the Revolution for an ideal, and about how the ideal is violated until it disappears altogether from the new society after the revolution. It tells how the animal captured the Manor Farm from its unconcerned master, change its name to Animal Farm and establish a community in which all animals are equal, how a power-starved pig brought into existence his own personal dictatorship, how the animals learned that some animals are more equal?, and their last state was just as bad as their first and how the ruling pigs become more and more undistinguishable from their human neighbors. .
It also tackles about the power and totalitarianism. How one has gained it and abused it. All of them were equal at first, but when one tried to rule with an iron hand, no one can argue.

The story of the Animal Farm is about the Russian Revolution. All the characters in the story represent the people involved in that period. From Karl Marx, to Stalin, to Hitler and even the common people.
My grandfather recommended this book to me because he said that I could easily find connections in this story even if I know nothing about the Russian Revolution. And I did.
This story reminds me of our dictator Marcos, whose rule is best described by the author. Almost all scenes were similar to his times like when a time came when the animals can't speak their minds because of fear of the dogs. This reminds me when Marcos suppressed the voice of the people and violated the freedom of expression. Another one, the Commandments were changed without them knowing because the pigs know that they are stupid enough not to notice, and even if they did, they simply can not argue. We can find its similarity when our Constitution had been changed during the reign of Marcos. Also a scene when the pigs who always protest were executed right there and then, and so were the other animals accused of being an ally of Snowball.
