locke vs jefferson

            
             Both Locke's ideas and Jefferson's ideas are almost identical. Locke's ideas are in of a more modern time though because he came many years after Jefferson did. Locke's natural rights are very similar to those of Jefferson. Both men say that all men are created equal. All men have equal privileges of the law as any other man would. Locke says that all men have the freedom to life, liberty, and his estate. Jefferson claims that all men have the freedom to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Both of these comparisons of natural rights are identical. They both describe how all men are made equal, with no man being higher than the others are.
             Both of these men and their issues on the consent of the governed are similar also. Both state that men unite to become one in a community of peace and sharing. They are a party of the government and have a fair say in the consent of the governed.
             The rights to rebellion and revolution itself have similar meanings between Locke and Jefferson. Locke discus's that people without any murmur will cause the slips of human frailty. If such thing continues they can put the government into hands of someone else that they trust. Jefferson states that we the people have the right to abolish or alter our government. We can overthrow it and find a new one. Both these men talk about overthrowing the government if it fails or crumbles and finding a new one to replace it.
             Being Jefferson's participation in government teacher, I feel I would have accused him of plagiarism. His thoughts and ideas seem to come directly from John Locke. Their writings are identical in that Jefferson's was written for the modern day. The main points for each of their thoughts are on the same opinion and each respond the same. I definitely would have failed Jefferson for plagiarism.
