How racism has affected my lif

             Racism has a great impact on my life. Although the type of racism that exists now in the present day society is different, it still has a major effect on my life. It has an effect on me in education, jobs and careers and recognition. Racism will continue to have an impact on me in the future. Racism is here to challenge the hatred of races in terms of superiority of one two another.
             Racism has a great impact on me in education. If I were to apply to a predominately white school of my choice the outcome would be very surprising. The color of my skin would be a barrier for my enrollment. If I have the credentials and have met the requirements, the only thing that would put my entrance on a hold would be because of my nationality. They probably wouldn't let me in the school because they feel intimidated by my potential and growth as an African American.
             Another way racism affects me is in jobs and career fields. It is quoted "If you ever want to keep something from a black man put it in a book". I totally agree with that statement. The simple fact that you see in a library white children checking out books, and black children checking out music supports my reason for agreement. Racial determinists believe because they are book smart that they can get any job they desire because they have applied themselves to learn. While on the other hand blacks have worked hard but show little evidence they are competent to run a company, manage their own business or even be future leaders.
             The third way racism has an influence on my life is by recognition. If a white man gets a position that he wanted he would be exalted and praised for his diligence and willingness to take on responsibility. Even if he didn't want to accept it he still would be lifted up just as much. As opposed to another race they would be persecuted for attempting to achieve a position that the whites feel isn't what they deserve.
