Couple years ago, I went to play paintball out in the forest with several of my friends. The goal of the game was to capture the other team's flag from their base and bring it back to your own base. I was the flag defender, which is the person who guards the flag right before someone gets it. For the first 20 minutes of the game, I stood right next to the flag waiting for the other team to come. Fortunately, they never came so I decided to venture off my home base and look for opposing team to shoot at. I headed 20 yards into the trees and saw two enemies lying on the ground. I quickly ducked and sniped them accurately from long range. Then I jumped back up on my heavy feet and decided to run into the other team's base because I could see their base unguarded. I sprinted forward and quickly grabbed their flag and began running behind the thick redwood trees. Right before I stopped, my friend jerked me down by my shirt and dragged me onto the ground. I asked him why he did that and the next thing I noticed was a big red circle paint mark on the tree. Apparently, an opposing player had his paintball gun aimed at me and was about to pull the trigger right before I hit the earth. Luckily, my friend was able to save me from such pain that would leave a dark purple mark on me for 2 weeks. Without hesitation, I quickly got up and ran back towards my base. Being shielded by the redwood, I was about to doge paintballs that were constantly flying towards me. After what seemed to be hours, I finally got to my base and place the opponent's flag on mine. "We Won," I yelled. My team ended up winning a T-shirt and 10 dollars.
