Paul van Dyk

Paul van Dyk is one of the most famous Disk Jockey's of all time. He has created a whole new genre of music, combining house music and melodic trance. He was born in Berlin, where club culture was not such a big thing. When it did become more popular, he felt that the music had no meaning, and so he started DJ"ing, he didn't make just any music, he used the music to tell of his emotions so that every song is a story. .
He started mixing on an old set of turntables, he slowly progressed as more and more people heard his ability. Eventually he was receiving invitations from all over the world, such as USA, Mexico, UK and many more. He has released many albums, some of the more popular ones include, "Out There and Back", "Columbia" and "The Politics of Dancing".
Many of his songs have reached the number one spots in various different countries. He has been voted the number one music maker (1999) ahead of DJ"ing legends Fat Boy Slim and Paul Oakenfold. He performed a six-hour set at Gate Crasher which was rated the second-best club night of all time. He has also been voted by many others as the best DJ and music man of the year.
It's not just his DJ"ing talent that is impressive, he has almost all of the characteristics of a good role model. He is always joyful and encourages others. He is persevering, he didn't make it into the big-time in just one night, it took years of hard work and when he did make it he was not vein but said that he was just like anyone else. He motivates others into doing what they love and that's exactly what he does, what he enjoys.
I think that Paul van Dyk is a good role model for the youth, although many other DJ's take drugs and drink, Paul does not do any of these things. He does what he is good at and always to the best of his ability, not caring what others think of him. He always tries hard and that is the reason of his success; perseverance and dedication paid out in the end.
