plagarism

Whether you like it or not plagiarism exists in pretty much every where you go. Plagiarism can be commonly defined as taking credit for something that is not your own work. For example, a student may easily get on the internet and print out a research paper, turn it in to the teacher, and claim that he wrote it himself. Everyday grade school students to medical students face ethical challenges when it comes to completing assignments. After reading the articles, "The Cheating Game," and "Academic Dishonesty: A Plague On Our Profession," I realized that people will often take the easy way out to get what they want.
Each article discussed that cheating has been far more easier then ever before. I feel that this is most definitely true. At the click of a mouse students are able to find all the information they want in completing an assignment. This wouldn't be considered bad as long as they don't take credit for words that are not their own. Unfortunately, some may choose to do the exact opposite. .
The articles also discussed that cheating is the easiest way to get ahead. Sometimes there's just not enough time in one day. I am not saying that I would allow people to cheat. That is a persons own personal choice, but there is a lot of pressure on students to succeed, be the best, get into a good college, keep parents proud, and still try to remain sane all at the same time.
Both articles made very good points. I happen to agree with many things discussed. The bottom line is cheating is cheating. Everyone knows its wrong, but the fact of the matter is everyone is looking out for themselves. To many people, it does not matter if they acquired any knowledge or not. What matters to them is the diploma, scholarship or A grade that they got in the end.
