Hipocrisy of Fans


            Sporting events are places where you can enjoy yourself or with family. For the more hardcore fans, it is life to follow there home team and support them in any way possible. And then there are just the band-wagon fans. These are the ones that come out of nowhere, when the team is winning, and say that they have followed the team for 15 years and the team has only been around for 10. Where have these people been every time "there" team was losing? So, why don't fans show up when the teams are not winning? The answer to that is one word, loyalty. When a fan is loyal to the team it does not matter, win or lose, they will be there for the team. So why aren't fans so loyal to the team?.
             Money is one reason why fans don't show up when they aren't winning. It is understandable that people want to get their money's worth when they go to a game. It isn't a cheap place, so when you go, you want enjoy it. When a team is no good something has to be done. Since the team isn't winning, decisions have to be made because if people do not show up, there will be a loss of profit. Simply, marketing goes down, and eventually the decision for getting rid of a team is evident. Seeing as people aren't supporting their so-called teams, the leagues commissioners see that people won't mind losing that franchise. But wait, since the fans do not want to waste their money on going to the games, why do they all of a sudden support the team and object on that decision. Where were they when the team was not winning? These so-called "die-hard fans" come out of nowhere and start to protest against it. .
             When people go to games, they expect a team to win, no matter what because that is what they are paid to do, right. No, yes they do have the special talents to play, but they are just as human as we are. Sports can be compared to marriage. When things are running smooth, everyone is happy. But when it starts to get rough, people tend to avoid it and want out.
