monkeyisland

In the vast, deep recesses of the southern Atlantic Ocean, there was an island that no one had ever heard of; an island where most human beings wouldn't dream existed. It was a place that if discovered, would astound the human world, mystify the rational thinkers, fascinate small children, be payday for the media, and Charles Darwin would have turned around in his grave.
The aqua blue waters rippled and rolled ever constantly as the sun's brilliant waves reflected the beautiful blue sky, thus making the ocean look like a sparkling sapphire. The beaches were covered with white sand, bleached from years of sun exposure, boasting of a calm and relaxing place, where one could toss their worries into the sea and the waves could carry them away to a place far, far away. Palm trees and other exotic tropical flora dotted the interior of the island and among the lush greens, in the midst of all the beauty, a hubbub of a bustling city was found. The island is dubbed Monkey Island and there, lived the monkeys with intelligence levels the same, if not quite superior, to humans.
At first glance, Monkey Island is no different than a typical human city like that of a suburban city of the United States. It had its own transportation system, educational system, government, and society completely under the direction of the monkeys themselves. This secret city had thrived for thousands of years, and some say it was the origin of human life itself. However, it has been said that the monkeys were several hundred years ahead of the human race in the area of technological and scientific advancements, which was clearly evident in their community for no monkey was ever sick, poor, or hungry. It was the perfect life, and the monkeys knew it.
Within this strange and mystical community, the fates were twisting and turning. Soon two teenagers were going to be pushed into the other's path and they would be forced to make a decision that would forever affect the future of Monkey Island.
