Syphilis

Syphilis is a sexually transmitted disease that is caused by a bacterium. The bacteria that causes syphilis is called Treponema Pallidum. This STD is very similar to many others as it has the same symptoms of other STDs. Syphilis is passed through contact with syphilis sore. These sores are found the external genitals, vagina, and the anus. Yet, these sores can be found on the lips and the mouth of a person. These sores can transmit during vaginal, anal, or oral sex. If women are pregnant and they have syphilis, they have a great chance to pass it on to their newborn.
Syphilis can be spread in some ways but has ways that it can't be spread. Seating on the same toilet and touching the same doorknobs can't spread it. Swimming in the same pool, using the same bathtub or hot tub either, can spread syphilis. Using the same clothes or the same utensils can't spread it.
Syphilis has three stages of infection. The first isn't so harsh as it doesn't come into affect until an average of 21 days after been affected. The first sign is the chancre but that isn't the only sore that can be around. The chancre appears where you were infected on your body. This chancre is a small painless sore that later cures itself a few weeks later. Then syphilis advances to the second stage of the three stages of syphilis.
The second stage is started by the body having skin breaking into rashes. The rashes start as the chancre starts to fade away. The rashes appear on the palms of the hands and the bottom of the feet. The rash can appear on other parts of the body but might appear with different characteristics. These characteristics give an assumption there are infections of other diseases. The second stage also includes having fever, swollen lymph glands, a sore throat, headaches, muscle aches, and tiredness. While in the first or second stages of syphilis the disease can be spread when these symptoms are present.
The final stage of syphilis starts as the second stage symptoms leave.
