romeo and juilet

"Romeo and Juliet" is a tragedy centralising on the major conflict between the Capulet's and the Montague's. Examine the characters of Romeo and Tybalt and how much is reflected in the behaviour and language up to and including Act 3 Scene 1.
From the time of the Greeks, tragedy has been one of the main themes of writers. Usually in a tragedy play the main character has one main weakness or flaw, which leads to their downfall. However in Romeo and Juliet when both of them die at the end its not because of greed, ambition or envy but love. However, unlike greed, ambition or envy, which are bad qualities, love is a good quality and it seems unfair that they die because of their love for each other.
In Romeo and Juliet its fate that that stops Romeo and Juliet living like an ordinary couple. It's not their fault that their families were enemies. Throughout the book, eve as early as the prologue there is lots of information stating that the two families have been in head lock for years. For example act 1 scene 1 the prince says .
"By thee old Capulet and Montague, .
Have thrice disturb"d the quiet of our street." .
Also, in the prologue it states,.
" The fearful passage of their death-mark"d love,.
And the continuance of their parents rage:.
Which but their children's end nought could remove." .
Both these quotes show that even before Romeo and Juliet met there was so much hate between the two families that fate was always going to between them but this was nothing to do with their actions. It can be said that it was fate that their two families were enemies, for they had been enemies long before Romeo and Juliet had even met. .
It was also fate that led to Romeo returning to where Juliet supposedly lay dead. She had taken a potion which would cause her to look dead so that her family would bury her. Then, when all was clear she would wake from this state and join Romeo. A letter had been sent to Romeo, informing him of the situation so that he would not worry from his hiding place.
