Color Experience

For the most, color is a quality fixed to the surfaces of physical objects. Perceiving the true nature of color consists simply in opening one's eyes and letting the light stream in. l color is a "characteristic of a visible radiation - whereas perceived color is an "aspect of visual perception."" Physical color, the stimulus for perceived color, is objectively quantifiable and measurable, but the qualitative features "redness, greenness, yellowness, and blueness--reside with perceived color. As Newton put it long ago, "the rays are not colored."".
Given the complexity of the human eye and brain, and the fact that we are all physiologically unique, I think there's very little chance that any two people can "see- a color in exactly the same way. Furthermore, even if we could "see- something in the same way, we could always interpret it differently, simply because every mind is also unique.
Eyes don't see anything, in the same way a telescope doesn't see anything, the awareness does the seeing. Color is an idea in the mind/brain and as such we do not see the same color, but rather a similar color.
-Light of different wavelengths enters our eyes.
The light hits our eyes, they pass the information to the brain and we see some picture with lots of objects, colors and shades."" (Goldstein, 2002).
The photons never reach the brain, but from the signal sent from the eyes the brain creates an idea of color, and as such we never 'see' light but only an idea called light that our brain created. And we look at this idea, this monitor and come up with a theory that light reflects off its surface hitting our eyes and sends a signal to the brain, etc. but all along we have never left the mental realm.
If you looked into my head of course you would see colors; the colors of the interior of my head, although you wouldn't see the colors I see.
I agree the events are not colors, and how could they be if we are not awareness of those events? The experience of color is private, so there is no way to know if we see the same red.
