             Conan the Barbarian exemplifies a leader in the classic sense. Conan the Barbarian was a classic hero. Conan the Barbarian was an honest hardworking fictional hero who only wanted to do good things. Even though Conan the Barbarian was also a thief he was an honest hardworking thief.

             Motivations ::.

             Conan the Barbarian was motivated to fight back against evil after his tribe had been destroyed by an evil war lord. When Conan was a young child of 16 his tribe had been wiped out but an evil war lord and this one single event charted Conan's course for the rest of his life.
             .
             Conan was also motivated by his desire to be a thief as well as a mercenary. Thieves and mercenaries are bound by a code of honor, as odd as this sounds, thieves and mercenaries deal in trust and therefore must be able to be trusted. Trust among thieves and mercenaries is a requirement for survival. Thieves and mercenaries always know who their enemies are since their common enemies are those who are dishonest and therefore are without honor. Conan was an honest thief and mercenary and this too motivated him to seek justice for the murder of his tribe. During Conan's quest for justice he grew into a leader and later on into a warrior-king who led his people into prosperity.

             Conan the Barbarian was portrayed in the movies in 1982 by Arnold Schwarzenegger. Today Arnold Schwarzenegger is another kind of leader, the Governor-elect of California. While this paper is not about Arnold Schwarzenegger one cannot discuss Conan the Barbarian without at least making mention of the one actor whose portrayal stands out moreover the rest.
