The Crucible

The basis of corruption in Salem can be pointed in many directions, but none of the least at my client John Proctor. Corruption through personal gain, honesty, and political knowledge are just a few of the reasons why John proctor is innocent. The court needs to look beyond prior judgments and events of the past and see the truth which I will prepare before you.
Corruption in Salem started not only from people being jealous towards other for personal gain, but also from the struggle for human survival and evil doings. In Isaiah 1:4 it says:.
             " Ah, sinful nation, .
a people loaded with guilt, .
             a brood of evildoers, .
             children given to corruption! .
They have forsaken the LORD ; .
they have spurned the Holy One of Israel .
and turned their backs on him.".
God does not acknowledge those who sin against him and will see to that they be the ones who suffer. Does God reach down and grab those who have sinned and pardon them? NO! He lets them endure the perils of Earth. When God brought man to this Earth, it was a perfect paradise. Then Adam screwed it up for the rest of us. He sinned against God. People have corrupted the Earth, and we will have to pay for whatever actions we have done. Abigail Williams has tried to corrupt the Proctor household by accusing Elizabeth Proctor of witchcraft. She has nothing to gain out of this allegation than John Proctor's lust rather than love. With Elizabeth out of the picture, she will be free to go after John Proctor however she pleases. She should be the one who should be under oath as she doesn't attend church regularly, laughs, and was dancing in the woods.
John Proctor is a respectable and honest citizen of Salem. He has never caused a bit of mischief in his years. So then what would cause this man to do such alleged crimes? He may not be the most honorable man, but has done a damn good job of raising a family and working long hours day by day. Is there anything that John Proctor would gain from this? .
