Zero Tolerance

Zero Tolerance has been an issue that many schools have been dealing with for many years. It had been an issue that has been tossed around and debated on whether if it should be acted on in schools or not all over the country. Zero Tolerance eliminates any slack for troublemakers and creates students that break the rules to receive a full and just punishment. But the question that many schools are having trouble answering is, Is the punishment just or not? Many of the opinions on the subject are going to be split because of the variety of people that are effected by it. Most students might not like it because it is a faster way of getting them in trouble or punished. Teachers and Faculty members might love it because it gets all the troublemakers out of their schools. Parents will also like it because it will make them feel like their children are safer when they go to school. But Zero Tolerance allows no room for question what so ever and this creates problems for the cases in which the kids are innocent. In today's society it is not unlikely for someone to be framed at a school or anywhere for that matter. There are cases where people are framed every day, and never actually commit the crime they were being punished for but receive the ultimate punishment. There are good people in this world who simply just make stupid mistakes and receive the cruel punishments of Zero Tolerance without any chance of getting better. When people receive this type of punishment they feel pushed away and neglected and have a tendency to look to the streets and getting into more disturbing things. Zero Tolerance should look as these cases and develop a program that gives second chances and create a helping atmosphere for the kids that need it most. Zero Tolerance should be taken out of school permanently because it doesn't protect kids when they are framed, allows no slack for people when they make stupid mistakes, and makes people worse off then they already are.
