essay on Great Expectations

Scene: Pumblechook finds out that Pip inherited a sum of money.

On thursday afternoon I was on my way to pick up Pip at his house for a congratulations lunch for him. On the way there I was thinking about how Pip inherited that much money and who would be that generous to give him that much money for him to go to school and get a education and to learn some manners.
It really made me wonder how mean, cruel, and spiteful I really was to Pip. I arrived at Pip's house and picked him up so we can eat our lunch. On the way back to my house it was really quite quiet. .
We arrived at my house and I took Pip's coat ant asked him if he wanted a glass of rum. "Sure" said Pip sitting down on the couch. I poured Pip and I a glass of rum and told him to sit down while I prepare the lunch. While I was preparing the meal I was asking questions about the money and other things dealing with that. He was acting strange around me like he had something to hide.
We sat down at my dining table and feasted on lamb, beans, corn on the cob,and minced-meat pie for dessert. After we ate the meal we sat down in the living room and drinking rum at the same time. Every so often I noticed my self shaking Pip's hand and congratulating him. After ten minutes or so I didn't notice but he told me I did. I think I didn't notice because I was drunk.
So hours later I walked Pip home and congratulated him again. I got in Pip's home and Mrs. Joe was sitting in her chair all confused looking. Biddy was trying to feed her some soup but she wouldn't eat, and Joe was still at the shop.
