The Buick seems to be a conduit to another reality and every now and then it breathes, inhaling a little bit of this world, exhaling a little bit of whatever world it came from. .
             A story teller is defined as "One who tells stories; a narrator of anecdotes, incidents, or fictitious tales; as, an amusing story-teller."(dictionary.com) A great storyteller takes a character or event who the reader will relate to, or who the reader will take and places them in a situation that is adventurous and risky. .
             Stephen King is a great storyteller and we see this through all of his works that have been made or published by him. These include Insomnia, IT, and From a Buick 8. His stories bring many thing such as love, relationships, care for others, but it also brings about the complete opposite, which is death. All of his stories are terrifying that makes readers believe that things can go bump in the night. .
             Stephen King also takes favorable characters and places them in thrilling and exciting situations. Stephen King tries to make his stories as real as possible, by doing this even though Stephen King is considered by many to be only a great thrilling novelist, he is a great American Story teller because of his use of words, characters, situations, and settings. He first must have to make his characters as real as possible. He takes your average, day to day, person then places them in terrifying situations and problems that they have to deal, cope and solve themselves. Stephen King also gets his ideas for stories by inspiration on his life, from a fairy tale to a road trip.
             First, are the characters in Insomnia, King gets his characters not from his mind, but from things he may have herd or seen. For example, Curley, he had originated him from one of the three stooges as well as Larry and Moe who were also part of the three stooges.
             In IT, he chooses to take a character from a circus that is meant to please people especially children.
