You would go your entire life wondering what it would be like to have a mother or to have a father. On the playground, the other kids would either make fun of you or ostracize you because you were different. At your high school graduation, you would have pictures of you with your gay parents. Granted, the only thing that should matter is that you"re with people that you love, but most think that type of relationship is abnormal. You would never be able to escape the cloud of homosexuality floating above your head, and you would always be wondering: "Why couldn't my parents be normal?" .
A child who is raised by a loving gay couple does not obtain the same attributes that a loving straight couple brings to the table. Granted, there are many gay couples who have a male that is more feminine than normal in the relationship and many lesbian couples who have a female who is more masculine than normal, but nothing can replace the traditional mother/ father relationship. By having a mother in the marriage, a child will obtain motherly advice, comfort, and knowledge. There is nothing that can replace the true comfort and love that is given by a mother. Did you have any experiences or controversies that you would only talk to your mother about? In some situations you just need the love and perspective of a mother, the person who gave birth to you and who cares more for you than anyone else in the world. A child who does not know his or her mother is many times at a disadvantage because that type of bond between mother and child is not available. Babies are born with natural instincts that bring them closer to the mother than to the father. For example: When a baby is born the voice and touch of the mother is what the baby first becomes adapted towards. The mother is the first person to touch the baby, and the mothers voice is the first voice that the baby hears. That is a strong psychological bond that brings the mother and baby together.
