Night Feeding poem

The title of the poem made me feel hungry. It made me think of a midnight snack. Having a midnight snack is one of the few things that I can depend on. I have it at the same time everyday, consistency is very important to me. Thinking of a midnight snack made me think of a cheeseburger, my usual midnight snack. Cheeseburgers are the greatest food known to man. So, I began to feel hungry. What can I say except that I tend to think with my stomach. However once I heard the poem I no longer felt hungry, in fact quite the opposite.
The poem itself made me feel depressed. It seemed as though the poem were talking about death. One of the phrases that stuck out to me was black sleep. It reminded me of a book, the fifth ring that had theses creatures, called orlocks that referred to death as the black sleep. Another phrase that stood out was gold burns. It made me think of the James Bond movie Goldfinger. In the movie the villain has James on a slab of gold and is going to cut him up with a laser. As the laser moves toward him it burns the gold. This also made reminded me of death. The thought of death is depressing. I do not plan on dying and if I did it would be twice as depressing. Thinking about it and not even planning on doing it and it's still depressing. If I planned on doing it then it would be twice as bad. The poem had a dark tone it. The words used in the poem had a negative connotation to them.
Every sentence had a dark taint to it. I pictured vampires, blood, and orlocks. I especially pictured orlocks eating each other. Picturing that is enough to make anyone feel depressed. The talk about feeding the hunger kept bringing up images of cannibalism. I imagined it as a physical hunger so the cannibalism was of another person. When thinking of that I can't help but get depressed. Ripping chunks out of another person and eating it like a hamburger. It could be someone you know.
