Today, we fought bravely in a great battle against Norway. It was an intense war and I fought fiercely, and honorably and defeated Norway! I have killed the traitor Macdowald, and stuck my sword to his pelvis and pulled up to his head. All the traitors will die a horrible death if caught. Well, on the way back to Duncan's castle, Banquo and I encountered 3 witches. These witches" prophecies tell me that I shall be king of Scotland, but I do not know if I should trust these witches. We then continue to Duncan's castle, and Ross and Angus then stop us and tell me that King Duncan has granted me the title Thane of Cawdor. .
When Banquo and I arrive to the castle, Duncan thanks me for my loyalty. Later Duncan announces that his son, Malcom, is going to be prince, and hair to the Scottish throne. I begin to feel a desirable feeling to be king. Can the witches" prophecies be true? I then later return to my castle and my wife greets me and tells me that she has read my letter. She tells me that she will see to it that I will become king, and to hide my abnormal expressions from the king when he stays the night. I leave dinner that night to go off and think about this to myself. My wife finds me later and we talk about the plan to kill Duncan and for me to become king. She calls me a coward if I do not go through with this. I then agree to proceed with the plan, and kill Duncan. I do not know what to do now, should I back out of the plan and break my promise to my wife? Or should I go with the plan and kill Duncan?.
