             Although Microsoft Corporation seems to have a hold on the home and business computer operating system, Lindows a Linux based windows program that offers to run many of the programs made exclusively for Microsoft Windows is being strategically marketed to the public by a partnership with Wall-Mart. Formerly sold only as an operating system, Lindows owners have made a decision to reintroduce the product pre-loaded onto a computer system exclusively sold on Wall-Marts online store. Combined Wall-Mart and Lindows are packing a great system for a cheap price which has caught the consumer's eye and seems to be the best deal on the market.
             Lindows History.
             Lindows was started by Michael Robertson, the founder and former Chief Executive Officer of MP3.com. He now is the current Chief Executive Officer and founder of Lindows. Kevin Carmony has served as the Lindows president and Chief Operations Officer since the inceptions of Lindows also. The mission of Lindows was to bring choices to computer user through extremely affordable options. This was to be done by introducing the product at a low cost and a yearly fee.
             The goal was to be able to market a product with the familiarity of Microsoft Windows at only a fraction of the cost. Unfortunately, Lindows became know as a cheap version or a knock off imitation of the renowned Microsoft Windows. This reputation was associated with its initial low purchase price of $99.00. Along with the purchase price a user was required to pay a license and upgrade fee yearly. Unlike other competitions operating systems the license owned was good as many computers as an individual owned. This method of sales made Lindows more beneficial to multiple computer homes.
             The actual software load of Lindows is a bare bone setup. Using a current technology in a new to the industry system Lindows created a Click-N-Run Warehouse where system users can go and download software programs from their desktop with a single click of a mouse.
