Incorporating all these various intelligences into everyday schoolwork will often provide a positive output in students work. Implementing Howard Gardner's method of instruction in High Schools is beneficial to both the student and instructors.
When talking about intelligences, Gardner refers to them as "tools of the brain". It is important that we realise that intelligence is in all of us, but some of us have more of one type of intelligence than the other. For example someone who is really proficient at sports would be having a better Bodily/Kinesthetic Intelligence than someone who has a better Verbal/Linguistic Intelligence. Each child is a unique individual, with unique strengths, weaknesses, aptitudes, interests and capabilities. In education, an instructor's purpose is to identify student's personal strengths and skills so that they can help them turn their potentiality into reality. This educational philosophy is based on the pioneering work of Dr. Howard Gardner. Dr. Gardner is recognized worldwide for his pioneering "Theory of Multiple Intelligences" as a framework to understand the complex nature of human intelligence. A core principle of this theory is the recognition that people think and learn differently and that intelligence can be expressed in a multitude of ways.
