Alexander Graham Bell the Inventor

Hello my name is Alexander graham bell and I am an inventor, I will tell u a little about my self and the very useful invention I have to show you today. I was born in Edinburgh Scotland and went to the university of Edinburgh and the university of London to get the needed education to prosper in the complicated field of inventing voice transmission devices like the one I will tell u about today. At the age of 23 I immigrated to Canada and one year later I moved to the United States. In the United States I used my knowledge learned in London and Edinburgh to teach deaf and mute people using varying techniques like the photophone that helps deaf people listen to conversations by seeing different lights and then they know what the person is saying. I became a citizen in your country in 1882. Since the young age of 18 I have been fascinated with the idea of transmitting speech over great distances. I wanted to improve the design of the telegraph that has been a success for almost!.
30 years but something new was needed. My assistant Thomas Watson and I started to experiment with the multiple telegraphs and that research lead to the first sentence ever transmitted from phone to phone, On march 7,1876 I won the patent for a device transmitting vocal or other sounds telegraphically. and in 1877 I started the bell telephone company. As we speak switchboards are being set up and thousands of miles of cable are being run so you can speak to the neighbor across the street or across the country. Operators who will listen to who you want to talk to and then rout you through the various switchboards. Your probably thinking why do we need this we've been using the successful telegraph system for 30 years but the telegraph system is out of date and the telephone is the future I believe. The telegraph uses dot and dash Morse code and is limited to sending and receiving only one message at a time; the reason the telegraph can only send and receive is because the sign!.
