MAcbeth

Throughout the play Macbeth ambition has played a vital role. Identify and support with reasons who was more ambitious, Macbeth or Lady Macbeth.
Throughout the play Macbeth ambition has been key to plot progression and character change. The two main characters that show this personality are Macbeth and Lady Macbeth. Macbeth is a Scottish Man who after receiving prophecies has an eye out to become king. His wife Lady Macbeth also wants his prophecy to come true, only so she can become Queen. After reading the play and evaluating the scenario I have concluded that Macbeth is more ambitious than his wife. .
First off, some may say that Lady Macbeth is more ambitious than her husband, but to me that idea is garbage. Yes Lady Macbeth planted the seed of ambition in her husbands mind and helped kill King Duncan, but that was the only ambitious action she did, in order for to become Queen. That seed that she planted overtook Macbeth's mind and sprouted, turning him into something else that she never saw before. Lady Macbeth was only ambitious in the beginning, then losing that personality trait to guilt. Lady Macbeth is solely responsible for her husband's ambition. .
The next reason why I believe Macbeth is more ambitious than his wife is he is the one who killed King Duncan. His wife set everything up, because she was ambitious and anxious to become Queen, but she didn't kill the King. Macbeth knew that he would become king but he needed to act in order to become king sooner. After hearing his prophecies from the Three Witches he became very ambitious to become king. Yes Lady Macbeth set up the whole plan to kill the King but she failed when she was to kill the King. She saw a resemblance to her father and could not go through with the murder of King Duncan. So Macbeth went in and did his business of killing the King. If any one was to say that Lady Macbeth were in fact more ambitious than her husband, this single reason totally disproves her being more ambitious.
