Monet And Da Vinci

This semester I have learned about many artists I had never heard of before. I learned what their concept of what art is. All of the artists I have learned about this semester had a very unique view of the world. The two artists I enjoyed the most were Monet and Leonardo da Vinci. I have always had a fascination towards their spellbinding work. The two artists that I never understood before this class was Pablo Picasso and Jackson Pollock. They both have a completely different understanding with their canvas than I have ever seen before. .
             * When I looked at one of Pollock's works all I saw were ink blots; I .
found it very confusing. Picasso's work I have always found interesting, but never understood the concept of his paintings. I realized I have to expand my mind when it comes to the different kinds of art. I also needed to appreciate the different aspects of art. This class has changed my views on both of these talented men. .
One of the works that we learned about in class is called Blue Poles (second to last page). Blue Poles is one of Pollock's more-well known pieces. He created this by dipping sticks into cans of paint then throwing, flickering, pouring, ect. Pollock's stated that "his technique only a means of expressing the aims of modern artist, and that his aims were to express energy." The way the colors laid on the canvas it seemed that they were all supposed be at that very spot. The reds, oranges, yellows, and stripped blues made his painting: Blue Poles. .
Through Pollock's work he showed his self-expression. As I said earlier Pollock .
had a very unique way of painting. Who would have every though to paint with a stick? Self-expression shows a apart of our life and the way we thing. Looking at Pollock's work gives us a chance to glance into his life. .
Jackson Pollock once said, "I have no fears because painting has a life of its own. I try to let it come through.
