             What is probability? Probability is a measure of how often a particular event will happen if something is done repeatedly.(596 Websters Dictionary).
             What are the chances that it will rain tomorrow? On television the weather reporter says, the chances that it will rain tomorrow are nine out of ten or nine in ten. This means that the probability of it raining tomorrow is very high. The weather reporter can never be certain because there is always a chance that something odd will happen.(Linn 1-3) .
             What are the chances that a die will land on a six.? What are the chances that you will have the same birthday as someone else? What are the chances that the coin will land on heads? What are the chances that I pull out a red ball from a bag? These are all examples of probability. I will talk more about them, and about some other examples. The following paragraphs will use probability in different examples.(Srivastava 6-7).
             What are the chances of rolling a six on a single die? A die has six sides on it making the chances of rolling a six one out of six. What are the chances of rolling a six with two dice? On any one die there are six sides. Whatever happens two the first die does not depend on the next. For the first die the chances of it landing on a six is one out of six, and the chances of it landing on a six for the second die is one out of six, so the chances of rolling two sixes are one out of thirty-six, and there are five possible outcomes of six(1-5 2-4 3-3 4-2 5-1). Making the chance five out of thirty-six.(Cushman 81-86) .
             Heads or tails? I want to play a video game but my brother wants to watch television and there was only one television in the house. So we took a quarter and I said heads or tails, my brother said tails and it landed up tails but I said that I want to play a video game, so lets make it best of three. So we tossed it again and it landed up tails.
