Swiss History

Switzerland also supplied Nazi Germany with other materials for free. Swiss factories were the largest part of their economy because they do not have very much farming land. Because they were neutral the Allies would not bomb the factories in Switzerland even though they were making supplies for Germany. Also due to the Swiss" great engineers they could make factories inside of mountains so that planes could not see them. That is all policies of Switzerland's economy during WWII.

This made many problems that are still trying to be solved today. "A special staff to handle all issues at the executive level in connection with the controversy over Switzerland's role during the WWII era"(Swiss Federal Dept., pg. 1). The problem was that when you make an account you are a number to the banker not a name. So when the account holder died the heirs had no proof that their parents had an account their. Since they had no proof they would not let them have any of the money. So they have been trying to solve this problem for 5 or 6 years. According to account a man by the name of Salton tried to receive his fathers bank account but a Swiss banker would not let him withdraw anything from it due to a lack of proof of relationship.
