             Dolly Hamma- young middle aged woman who is a wife of a planter and has a bizarre fashion sense. She is very gossipy usually spends her time with Beulah. Dolly is scared of colored people and tries her best to stay away from them.
             Beulah Binnings- middle aged woman who is also a wife of a planter and has a bizarre fashion sense. She is very gossipy usually spends her time with Dolly. She sometimes gives parties that enables people to get extremely drunk. Many people believe that her drinking parties set a bad example to the youngsters in the county. Beulah will try to deny this gossip and will criticize any one who tries to stop her from having these parties.
             Pee Wee Binnings- husband of Beulah Binnings. He's a planter.
             Dog Hamma- husband of Dolly Hamma. Also a planter.
             Carol Cutrere- a woman in her past thirties. She has an exaggeration of makeup on and her family name is the oldest in the county. She believes in myths. that if something happens to you something good will come out of it. She doesn't care for the law for since she was arrested so many times she doesn't want to be arrested again so she carries a non licensed revolver with her at all times while she is driving without a license to her home. She is a big flirt she will do anything just to have Val Xavier. She loves attention and will do anything to have it.
             Eva Temple and Sister Temple- Two maids who were hired as maids in Ladys" home. They don't like colored people and are very nosy in what is going on around the house.
             Uncle Pleasant- He is Carol Cutreres" uncle. He is a colored man who is part Choctaw and is usually called the Conjure man.
             Val Xavier- a young man in his thirties who has a wild beauty about himself. He carries around a guitar and wears a snakeskin jacket. He is a drifter looking for a job until Lady offers him a job. He loves his guitar and cant be left alone without it. He tries his best to give 100% at his work.
