A Tribe Apart

A few of my friends got pregnant. This book was a real reality to what teenagers are going through today and it will only get worse from here if people don't understanding it.
I like Chris's personality. He was into school and he was a football player. He liked to spend time with his family. He also make a wise choice by deciding that he was way too young to be having sex. His interactions relate to socialization because of his social background. Because he was from such a good background, this influences him to make better and wise decisions in everyday live.
I related somewhat to Jessica because of her association with friends. When I was that age I loved to be around my friends. I also smoked as she did and I liked to go to parties. She just loved to have a good time. She also knew her boundaries and knew right from wrong. She didn't go to that party on New Years Eve because she knew it was wrong, she might get hurt, she would get in trouble, and she would just feel safer if she was at home with her family. Jessica's interactions relate to socialization the same way Chris's did.
Brendon was another story different from Chris's and Jessica's. His family had a lot of financial issues at large and this caused great conflict between the family. They were all artistic, but couldn't pursue it because of the money issues. Brendon said his graffiti was "art", but I saw it more as a way of acting out because of the problems at home. He was also into drugs and alcohol as actions of being rebellious. His interactions also related to socialization, but because of poor social background he acted out as a way of attention or giving up.
I could also relate a little with Courtney. I was over the immature guys at her age and wanted to be with someone more mature, experienced, and caring. I did all the bad things she engaged in. She was very smart about being so hesitant in having sex and that after the experience with Nat, she did not want to make that same mistake.
