American Heath Care System

            
             Within the health care field there is a growing concern about the needs of the elderly. Families often wonder if their loved ones are getting the proper care that they need. With the growing costs of health care and the decreasing resources of primary care physicians it is feared that only the physical needs of the patient will be met. Concerns also rise about the social, psychological, and environmental needs of the patient. .
             The American Health Care system has prided itself on providing high quality services to the citizens who normally cannot afford them. This system has been in place for years and until now it did a fairly decent job. The problem with today's health care system is money. The cost of hospital services and doctor fees are rising faster than ever before. The government has been trying to come up with a new plan these past few years even though there has been strong oppositional new Health Care system. There are many reasons why it should be changed and there are many reasons why it shouldn't be changed. .
             The main thing that both sides are heading towards is money. Both sides want to save money, just in different ways. Before the introduction of Medicaid, most poor persons had little or no private insurance and many went without needed care. Medicaid attempted to alleviate this situation if not for all poor persons, at least for those on welfare and the medically needy. (Davis) The movement for changing the Health Care system believes that there is a need for change because of the problems that the system faces today cannot be handled. Every month, 2million Americans lose their insurance. That's one out of every four or 63 million Americans that will lose their health insurance coverage for some period during the next two years. There are currently 37 million Americans that have no insurance and another 22 million who have inadequate coverage. Losing or changing a job often means losing insurance.
