Amnesty International as an Interest Group

            
             There seems to be a need for a certain amount of assurance that man as a single species can obtain and be treated with basic and equal human rights despite those things which seem to separate and tear us from each other. Religion, sex, color of skin or simply style of clothing has been used since the beginning to distinguish and separate one from the other. Although these could be considered for distinguishing culture they should not however be used to determine which man deserves to receive basic human rights. As the majorities of people wake up and go to whatever form of work they chose to be responsible for, there is one specific group of people, who form Amnesty International, who have dedicated their time and energy in assuring and fighting for the everlasting protection of rights for man kind.
             Amnesty International has a vision and a mission to create and live in a world in which every person may enjoy all of the human rights enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and other international human rights standards. People who dream on making a difference or changing the world can do so by becoming a member. To do so is fairly easy, one must first determine if their area of living is a section of the world in which Amnesty International operates. If Amnesty International does operate in the individual's area then all that is needed is the consent of the section and of the International Executive Committee. If by chance Amnesty International does not operate in the individual's area an annual subscription fee is determined by the International Executive Committee and then must give consent. Once the individual becomes a member, he or she may become responsible for researching the facts of individual cases and patterns of human rights abuses which will in turn be publicized and then presented to governments. .
             As an interest group, Amnesty International has been very effective.
