I think the potato cylinder in pure water will gain the most water, and the cylinder in the highest concentration of sucrose will gain the least amount of water if it gains any at all.

Collect and set up your apparatus .
Measure all the liquids.
Prepare potatoes using borer.
Put potato in appropriate solution for approx. 48 hours.
After, remove surface liquid by blotting.
Weigh them and record the change.
Repeat for all concentrations.
Repeat experiment for a second time pool and record class results.
