Commanding heights refers to the struggle for the most appropriate world economy. Depending on the way one would like to be treated in the economic standpoint will determine which will be the better world economy for you. John Maynard Keynes and Frederic von Hayek are two men with totally different ideas. Keynes resides to a more capitalistic economy while Hayek is more fascist. Whichever one sides with will decide how successful one will be in life.
When determining who has the "High ground" in the Commanding Heights series one will quickly realize that Keynes ideas are ultimately superior to Hayek's ideas. Hayek believes in complete equality within a society. This is a terrible thought because the people have nothing to work for. Keynes ideas on the other hand are very realistic in that his ideas promote the better for the people. One would be idiotic to side with Hayek. .
Commanding Heights refers to who can establish the best type of economy for the situation. The situation may be time following war where a country may need more order. While a country whose economy is booming may deserve more freedom. Whatever the situation may be will determine whose economic model to choose.
