Fire


             It has a distinct luminous glow, with a pretty array of colors such as yellow, orange, red, purple, and blue. For me, fire symbolizes life. When a candle is burned, it brings out the smell and the light of life. There are many classifications associated with fire such as material descriptions, uses, and symbolism.
             Describing what fire actually is is one's own opinions or thoughts about fire. When I think of fire, I think of how hot it is. In addition to its immense temperature, it has an odor to it. The smell of a fire is just so refreshing and pleasing to ones senses, body, and mind. Fire actually ranges in size too. It can be very small like an inchworm or it can be very big like a skyscraper. If a fire gets that big, then it could become out of control. The byproducts of fire are smoke and ashes. There is only one bad feature about fire. It is dangerous and can go out of control in less than a second. Fire is such a useful natural gas in our society.
             We use fire for heat. It keeps us nice and toasty warm during the winter by keeping our homes warm. Also, we use fire to cook our food. Without fire we would be eating raw meat getting every new disease available. Fire is a source of light. We use fire to burn things, like garbage. As well as using fire to burn things, we use it for cremation. Fire also creates jobs. Without fire, we wouldn't have firemen. Fire is a source of entertainment too. We blast off fireworks every Fourth of July, burn candles, burn incense, build camp fires, and build a fire in our fireplace. Without fire, there wouldn't be an Olympic torch. Furthermore, fire is also very symbolic.
             Not everyone has the same outlook on fire. Fire symbolizes many things. When I look at fire, I see the creation of life. However, it is also perceived to symbolize death. In many religions, people light candles in honor of a loved one. Fire represents emotion. It brings out anger and aggression in people.
