Well, there are a lot of industries in my hometown such as steel industry, car industry, electronics industry, tobacco industry, etc. Though they are all important, the garment industry is the main one. It is located in many cities in China, one of which is Wuhan. .
Now I will describe why.
Firstly, Wuhan is a big city which has a population of 8 million. These people have to eat, wear, travel and live. So it is important to provide them with their basic needs. To provide enough clothes for 8 million people, however, is not an easy job. So if we import clothes from other countries and sell them to normal chinese families, they can hardly afford it. Secondly, the cities around Wuhan all are agricultural cities and have no production ability to produce enough clothes thus setting up a very big market. Last but not least, because it's light industry, it has few effort on enviroment. Besides, as the improvement of technology, we can produce green products, then it will affect nothing on our environment. So the important of garment industry has increased thus setting up many garment industries in Wuhan. .
In Wuhan, because the cheap label and raw materials, we can produce many garment and pay a lot of taxes every year. But they aren't any famous band in Wuhan. Wuhan's garment industry is famous for its quality not quatity. So I think our next aim is attracting more high-class clothes designers from other countries such as French, etc. or updating our local designers.
