10 Comandments (confirmation essay)

When God first created people he wrote the law into our hearts but when man fell into sin and disobeyed God, the law became blurred. No one could know the law much less do the things God requires. So later, at Mt. Sinai, God had to give them a set of written laws called the Ten Commandments to live by. That leads me into my subject: what are the Ten Commandments? The Ten Commandments are a summary of God's moral law that God gave to all, keyword all, people. The Ten Commandments are set up in two sections, commandments towards God and commandments towards our neighbor. We divide the 10 Commandments in the following manner. The first three commandments towards God are "You shall have no other gods"; "You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain"; and "Remember the Sabbath day and keep it holy". The other seven commandments, toward our neighbor, are "Honor your father and your mother"; "You shall not kill"; "You shall not commit adultery"; "You shall not steal"; "You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor"; "You shall not covet your neighbor's house"; and "You shall not covet your neighbor's wife or his manservant or his maidservant, or his cattle or anything that is your neighbors". .
Even though God gave us the Ten commandments in the Old Testament, Jesus also summarizes the law in Matthew 22:39. He summarizes the Ten Commandments in two parts: "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind", for the first three commandments, and "You shall love your neighbor as yourself", for the remaining seven commandments.
A major concern of people is how they can keep the Ten Commandments. There is a very simple answer to that question, you can't. Then how can we be saved? The only way to be saved is to believe in Jesus. He lived a perfect life for us, obeyed all the commandments of God for us, and died on the cross to pay the penalty for our sins.
