Jesse Jacson: A Dynamic Speaker

When I say the name Jesse Jackson in my mind, so many things and different qualities about him come into mind. If I could describe Jesse Jackson in one word, it would be: Dynamic. He is every quality that a holistic communicator would possess. His speeches come from his mind, body, and spirit/soul, and his delivery hits the audience immensely.
Mind: Like Martin Luther King Jr., Jesse Jackson is an intelligent man. When I read speeches from Martin, and then look at speeches from Jesse, I see many similarities. They way they write their speeches is so amazing. From metaphors to an oxymoron or two, there is so much colorful language in their speeches. Jesse Jackson also has many facts in his speeches. While writing his speeches I"m sure he has many books that he"ll read up on, just to help prove his point with facts to back him up. With facts you can help convince an audience even more than just opinions. One phrase that I like that shows vivid language is from his: Address before the Democratic National Convention. He said, "If there were occasions when my grape turned into a raisin and my joy bell lost its resonance, please forgive me. Charge it to my head and not to my heart. My head - so limited in its finitude; my heart, which is boundless in its love for the human family." I liked the way that he compared inanimate objects to such humanely characteristics. This shows that when Jesse is writing his speeches, he wants the audience as well to think. This colorful language adds some spice to his speeches along with other qualities. .
Body: Jesse Jackson is one of the most verbally convincing speakers I know. Whenever he speaks, it seems to draw me in, and make me believe everything he touches on. His looks are intimidating along with his piercing eyes and strong southern accent. If he's serious about something, the audience knows it. If he's praising someone, the audience will be well informed of why this person deserves such gratitude.
