Can Late Abortion be Justified

            The theme for Can Late Abortion be justified is yes in China. It is legal if the couple and physician take social good in account, if the mother expresses her voluntary consent, and if the one couple one child policy is justifiable. They feel that if appropriate sex and reproductive education was taught at an early age then there would be lesser late abortion; which if it was done early during the term it would be safer. China has a law that prohibits late abortion after twenty-eight weeks. These authors are against it when it comes to the health and life of the mother and fetus for allowing them to carry the term of pregnancy up to that amount of weeks. Then again they have thoughts about it if the mother wants more than one child, because in order for them to have more than one child they have to pay and some can not afford it. Chinese government believes in birth control policy, which is promoted so a couple will have only one child. Some women go against the birth control policy and rather be fined in order to have another child. After the first child all Chinese women are forced to have an abortion. Another way you know the authors goes both ways is when they say for women to have anymore kids is praiseworthy; but for women who wants more kids is not a vicious desire. The only way Chinese women could have more than one child without being fined is if they have a child that was disable or if they lived in a rural area with a birth rate lowered than the quota. The main reason that late abortion can be justified ethically is if the late abortion will entail only a low risk to the mother's health or life. .
             I do not agree with late abortion or early abortion only with a few exceptions. I feel that if a woman was raped or if her or the child was at risk than abortion should be permitted. I"m all against this late abortion because you go up to twenty-eight weeks before your last chance to abort.
