Antisocial Behavior

She was scored "average" on all components of the Wechsler Abbreviated Scale of Intelligence. The Trauma Symptom Checklist for Adolescents, Reynolds Adolescent Depression Scale, Adolescent Psychopathology Scale, Incomplete Sentences for Teenagers and Young Adults, House-Tree Person Drawings, Kinetic Family Drawings, and the Rorschach Inkblot Test all generally proved Brandi to be anxious, worried, and moderately depressed. Specifically, the inkblot tests showed Brandi to have errors in judgment, failures to adequately assess her social environment, and therefore act impulsively most of the time. Her DSM-IV diagnosis was as follows: Axis I - major depressive disorder and generalized anxiety disorder; Axis II - no diagnosis; Axis III - none; Axis IV - communication problems within the family, limited peer support network, and discord with peers; Axis V - overall score of 59. .
I would like to mention that during this hospitalization she never told her secret that probably would have significantly assisted in drawing some of these conclusions and diagnoses. Between March and May of 2000, she was raped six times by our male neighbor across the street. She babysat for his girlfriend and became good friends with this woman over time. After my parents found out about the incidents occurring at the neighbors, they immediately called Children's Hospital. They recommended that she become involved in outpatient care through the hospital. Through May of 2000, she stayed with my grandmother in Denver. She was brought home after her outpatient care and lived at home for about one year. During this time, Brandi's behavior became quite abnormal as she was subjected to constant ridicule from the community. For instance, she was stealing cigarettes from my mother, completely disregarding my parents groundings and rules, she would lie about anything and everything she was asked about, she never thought before she acted, and therefore, put immense stress on our family life and my parents.
