Beowulf vs. Remington

Virtues play a very important role in life today. Faith, loyalty, and courage are very important characteristics in a person. Beowulf and Remington are two characters that would compare and contrast great through their virtues. .
Courage, probably one of the greatest virtues someone can have and definately a big virtue for these two. Remington, whos courage sprang forth after his family was killed, uses his courage and skills to help the people of Savo. He comes to their aid after hearing about a problem with lions. Remington had hunted lions before and is quite good at it, so he shows his courage by coming to kill them. Beowulf on the other hand was courageous as well by fighting unmatched opponents and overcoming unfathomable odds. In his battle against Grendel, Grendel's Mother, and the dragon his power is unmatched. .
".Grendel saw that his strength was deserting him, his clows bound fast, Higlac's brave follower tearing at his hands. The monster's hatred rose higher, but his power had gone. He twisted in pain.".
Through this quote you can see just how courageous Beowulf is as he battles a monster that no other human dare to challenge. Throughout "Beowulf" you notice that he believes very strongly that God has control over anything that happens to him. Faith is also a very important and prestigious virtue, and something these two characters had alot of.
In this quote Beowulf demonstrates his faith in God and his belief that God determines his fate.
"I'd have been dead at once, and the she-devil victorious, if our father in heaven had not helped me.".
As you can tell by his words Beowulf put alot of trust and faith in God. Through his many battles you can note his prayers and statements to and about God as very christian. He even gives reference to heaven and hell as in this quote:.
"With death pressing at his [Grendel] back, pain splitting his panicked heart, pulling him. Step by step into hell.
