Euthanasia Debate in Australia


             Death has always been the easiest option to avoid such problems.euthanasia or 'mercy killing' comes from the Greak word 'Euthanatos' which means taking of the life of another person. who should make decision about where,when and how we die? Euthanasia is a controversial issue in Australia. there are indeed medical, ethnic and religious concern. many agree that this form of mercy killing is acceptable for those who terminally ill while others strongly opposed its legislation.
             The word euthanasia originated from the Greak language: Eu means 'Good' and thanatos means 'Death'.Eutahanasia is the deliberate and intentional killing of human being by another at explicit request of the person who dies. there are various form of Euthanasia, one is Voluntary euthanasia.this is when a person has aterminal disease which prevents him/her to do anything. so he asks someone to kill him painlessly. another is Involuntary Euthanasia. this is when a person kill the patients in opposition of their wishes. it's basically form of murder where a doctor/someone who decides the patieny's quality lifw and ends the patient's life straight away despite the patient's desire to live.
             Euthanasia has recently become legal in the netherlands. Making it the only country in the world to legalise mercy killing. other countries still debate the true meaning of euthanasia and it's legaslation. In 1996 the Northern territory government passed a law allowing for voluntary euthanasia. to qualify the person requesting this had to be: over 18,terminally ill,mentally competent and making the request in write.
             Dr Rodney Syme, a urologist at melbourne's austin hospital said he had assisted 3 patient (who were dying) how to commit suicide. he wasn't found guilty by the police after making his action in public,but he issued that he would be prepared to force the issue through the courts if euthanasia wasn't legalised within 10 years.
